Ellynn Mayo (they/them/theirs) is a non-binary filmmaker determined to create films that highlight the raw experiences of queer people — from mental illness to relationship struggles to daily life.

Their first film, SINKING, was filmed on a Samsung S8+ with two of their friends. It’s about depression and the importance of reaching out to others.

They are currently working on producing a fifteen-minute documentary about the trans experience on a college campus, with intentions of submitting it to the Southwest Center Film Festival in April.

Ellynn is currently a Sophomore at the University of Kansas with a double-major in Film & Media Studies and French & Francophone Studies, plus a minor in Creative Writing. Their aspirations include a feature film about queer teen relationships and a documentary about contemporary witchcraft.
